Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar is a humanitarian and spiritual leader, peace ambassador and human values. With a vision of a stress-free and violence-free world, Gurudev has inspired millions of people around the world through his life and work.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, in an interview with Mr Yash Birla, shares his point of view, opinions, and teachings about meditation and spirituality.

Yash Birla, as outgoing as he may seem, shares the same belief in meditation and values as Gurudev. It is his art of living. The Birla scion always has promoted the path of spiritualism and encouraged people to follow it. In this interview, he questions and discusses meditation and how it affects different sectors of life.

When asked about meditation and its relevance to prayer and intuition, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, in an interview with Yash Birla, says that meditation and prayer go hand in hand. They help you reach a calm and relaxed state of mind and connect you with the superior being. Also, he explains to Yash Birla that as a businessman, meditation could help him in decision making. In meditation, you surrender yourself to God, which brings you confidence and clarity in mind. This, in turn, helps to make decisions and choose paths while decision making for the business.

If someone has a dream or a particular goal, then meditation can guide them toward the right path, says Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. There is no point in analysing past decisions, one should focus on moving forward and working towards their goal and be prepared to face failures. Yash Birla asks about the importance of vegetarianism and expresses concern about how taking intoxicants, drinking alcohol, and smoking are considered normal. Gurudev responds that he believes vegetarianism is more suitable for human beings. India is a pioneer of vegetarianism, and the whole world is slowly joining the path as well. Also, he adds that indulging in intoxicants is indeed dangerous to health and should not be followed by anybody.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar says to Yash Birla that he is lucky to be born and grown up in a prestigious family that instilled great values in him. He believes that the environment a person grows into has a huge impact on their life. To which Yash Birla adds that he always follows his family values and treats his home like a temple. Thus, he never allowed any impurity like non-vegetarian food, alcohol, or any other type of intoxicants in his home. He is raising his kids with the same values he grew up with.

Yash Birla thinks that the youth is leaning toward the western culture and forgetting our traditional Indian culture, faith, spirituality, and language. Thus, there is a need to bring back spirituality and convince young people that there is nothing wrong with our belief system. The benefits of meditation and Yoga are getting popular among the masses. It is beneficial for society, and our ancient traditions are reviving as well. Mr Yash Birla says that he is proud that he follows these traditions and, stands apart from the crowd. He believes that one should have conviction in their faith and belief, he opinionated strongly, and stand firm on their ground.
