All the stress-relieving activities in the world will not help if you don’t take care of yourself. You won’t benefit from meditation if you are not getting enough sleep. In fact, if you try to meditate without attending to your body’s need for sleep, you may find that you fall asleep.
Similar to this, occasionally going to the gym won’t do much to reduce stress if you do not routinely feed your body wholesome, nutrient-rich foods. If you want your stress-relieving hobbies to be successful, you must attend to your basic requirements first.
This article discusses how to practice self-care. It also covers some of the points shared by Mr Yash Birla on self-care and his self-care regime.
“A thorough, multilayered process of purposeful participation in techniques that promote healthy functioning and enhance well-being” is how self-care is defined.
The phrase essentially refers to a deliberate action a person makes to advance their own physical, mental, and emotional wellness. Self-care can come in a variety of forms. It may be as easy as getting adequate rest each night or going outside for a short while to breathe some fresh air.
Mr Yash Birla, when asked about his opinion of self-care, says, “Some people are of the assumption that looking after your health interferes with other facets of your profession which does not; instead, it actually complements it.” He further explains, “When you are healthy you can do better in whatever profession you are in, and it helps you perform better. What you take a long time to do, you can do in a lesser amount of time. It gives you a lot of self-confidence. So I think when you neglect your health, you are not really understanding that you are not only neglecting bodily health, you are also neglecting mental and performance health, which can be optimized by leading a healthy life.”
“Self-care for me is practising,” states Yash Birla while explaining how to practice self-care. Additionally, he emphasizes, “Fitness, gymming, some cardiovascular yoga, pranayam, meditation, introspection, reading spiritual books, and increasing knowledge. I think I do all these regularly, as much as I can, and I keep reminding myself that the human mind unless regularly taught, can always be distracted, and I try and prevent myself from getting distracted because I think this is the most important essence in life.”
Building resilience against those pressures in life that you cannot avoid requires self-care. You’ll be better able to live your best life once you’ve taken care of your body and mind.
Sadly, a lot of individuals see self-care as a luxury rather than a necessity. As a result, they are left feeling overburdened, worn out, and unprepared to deal with life’s inevitable obstacles.
In order to make sure you are taking care of your mind, body, and spirit, it is crucial to evaluate how you are taking care of yourself in several different areas.
